Bulgari One Billion Euros In 2006
Last year, for the first time in its history, the Bulgari group recorded a turnover in excess of one billion euros (1,010.4 million), up by 10% compared to the 918.5 million achieved in 2005. At constant exchange rates, the increase is even 12%. Operating profit meanwhile rose to 155.9 million (+9.2%), while net profit increased by 15.3% to 134.3 million.
All product categories saw their sales increase last year: jewellery by 9.1% to 401.8 million euros, watches by 7.9% to 289.0 million, perfumes by 10.5% to 201.6 million, accessories by 15.5% to 88.8 million and royalties by 26.6% to 29.2 million. It should be noted however that watchmaking lost some ground during the fourth quarter and saw its sales fall by 7.5% to 89.0 million.
By regions, the two best performers were Europe (excluding Italy) and the Americas, with +17.3% and +15.1% to 256.3 million and 159.1 million respectively. Next come Japan (+7.4% to 256.6 million), the Far East (+7.3% to 149.8 million) and the Middle East (+7.0% to 57.2 million). Italy meanwhile brings up the rear with +1.2% to 131.4 million.
For 2007, the Italian group is counting on an increase in the order of 8 to 12%, both in terms of its sales and its net profit.
