Corum appoints new general manager

La Chaux-de-Fond, Switzerland—Corum Timepieces has appointed Antonio Calce its new general manager.

Calce, 40, joined the company in September 2005 as vice president of operations. Since then, he has worked to refocus the brand by developing and upgrading Corum’s watch models. He has also implemented a new internal production-level structure following the recruitment of four new heads of department to provide watch-making support.

A Swiss native, Calce brings a range of experience in watch-industry operations, including creation, after-sales service support, development, product engineering, production and sales.

Calce joined the Richemont Group in 1994 as technology, methods, logistics and product manager. While there, he developed the Panerai merchandise range after the brand’s 1997 acquisition by Richemont. In 2000, he became the development director of the Panerai and Piaget brands.

Corum, an independent, family-owned company, has produced luxury Swiss watches since 1955.
