Breil and Ducati Pairing Up Again

Harry Winston timepiece honors tennis legend


Las Vegas—Harry Winston has created a one-of-a-kind Andre Agassi watch to donate to the Andre Agassi Grand Slam for Children gala presented by Genworth Financial.

The Grand Slam, scheduled for Oct. 6 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, benefits The Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation, which supports at-risk youth in the Las Vegas community.

The watch boasts an indestructible Zalium case, according to the company, which encases a self-winding chronograph movement, with sapphire crystal anti-reflective on both sides. The watch also has water-resistance to 200 meters as well as a rubber strap and tennis-inspired accents on the dial.

Patek Philippe AQUANAUT LUCE RINGS


No word on price, but here are some new Aquanaut Luce Rings by watchmaker Patek Philippe. They are made of white gold and come plain or with diamonds. The rings also feature interchangeable rubber inserts in the same pattern and colors as the straps of the Aquanaut Luce watch collection. Corum names ‘Brand Icon of the Year’


Singapore—Global Brand Forum 2007 and Corum Timepieces have announced that former U.S. Vice President Al Gore has been selected as the first “Brand Icon of the Year,” an honor that recognizes an individual’s contributions in the area of global branding.

“We choose Al Gore as our inaugural Brand Icon of the Year because of his unique and valuable contributions in the fields of media and the environment,” Global Brand Forum Chairman S. Karthik said in a media release.

In presenting Al Gore with the award—a legendary Romvlvs by Corum—Corum Timepieces President Michael Wunderman said that Gore represents the kind of determination and commitment to excellence that is admired by so many companies.

Grand Carrera by TAG Heuer


Here is an image one of the watches from the new TAG Heuer Grand Carrera line. There are three different versions: the Grand Carrera Calibre 6 RS, Grand Carrera Calibre 8 RS Grand Date GMT, and the model shown here the Grand Carrera Chronograph Calibre 17 RS. This COSC-certified chronograph features a 43 mm dial, screw-in crown, screw-in chronograph pushbuttons and hand-applied date window at 6 o’clock. The dial is equipped with two rotating systems with Cotes de Geneve treatments and diamond polished facets: seconds at 3 o’clock; chronograph minute at 9 o’clock. It is available with a black or silver dial on a stainless steel bracelet or alligator strap for $4,495. If I had to buy a TAG Heuer right now this chrono would definitely be on my short list.

The new Limited Edition Carlos Coste Chrono is probably the nicest watch Oris introduced at Baselworld. This beast has a massive 47 mm titanium case with a a 4.8 mm sapphire crystal and is water resistant to 1000 m. This limited edition model is named after Oris brand ambassador Carlos Coste who is the free-diving world record holder. The dial is very cool with orange accents, orange luminous paint and a black dial with a printed wave design. There are 2000 editions available worldwide for $3195.
