New British Watch Company called IWI

New British Watch Company called IWI

A new British watch company called IWI just recently introduced a full line of wristwatches with their crown on the top. Here is my favorite version of the new limited edition watches. They use Swiss automatic movements, sapphire crystals, stainless steel cases and handmade Louisiana deployment aligator straps. These unique looking timepieces are hand finished and assembled in England and are available online at IWI.

Pasha Seatimer Chronograph by CARTIER

Pasha Seatimer Chronograph by CARTIER

Here is another cool watch from Cartier which is part of the Richemont Group. I usually prefer staineless steel or titanium over gold, but this gold and black combination looks great. The stainless steel version retails for $5600, so I would guess the gold version is at least twice that price. The Pasha Seatimer has a 42.5 mm case with a sapphire dial and caseback. The bezel and the bracelet have black ceramic accents and the pushers/crown have black cabochons that add the finishing touch to this beautiful timepiece.

Swatch Group Record Half-Year

If the Swiss watch industry witnessed a surge in its exports from the beginning of January to the end of June (+15.5% to 7.2 billion francs), the Swatch Group did even better with an increase in turnover of 16.7% to 2.74 billion!

Despite problems of production capacity which it has faced for some time, the Swatch Group posted a record first half-year in 2007 with two-digit increases in turnover (+16.7% to 2.74 billion francs), operating profit (+27.1% to 511 million) and net profit (+39.4% to 460 million).

Pierre Kunz’s Chrono Sport Monaco

Pierre Kunz’s Chrono Sport Monaco

Pierre Kunz Geneva contributes for a second time to an exceptional charity effort in support of research for a rare genetic degenerative disease primarily affecting voluntary muscles. The house has created a timepiece, The Chrono Sport Monaco, exclusively for the “Only Watch ’07″ auction taking place Sept. 20 in Monte Carlo. It is organized by Antiquorum under the patronage of SAS Prince Albert of Monaco in conjunction with Monaco Yacht Show and will be auctioned to raise funds for research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

The Chrono Sport Monaco is a stylish chronograph housed in a 44mm case in stainless steel with a ‘Monaco’ red texalium dial. The retrograde hours and minutes chronograph function are indicated on two open sectors showing some of the secrets of the mechanisms of the rack and pinion system, revealing the entire movement. The Chrono Sport Monaco is an addition to Pierre Kunz’ existing Chronograph sports line, which unites advanced technology and original design.

The high-end Swiss watch brand is part of the Frank Muller Group located in Genthod, Switzerland, an area that generates an atmosphere rich in creativity. Pierre Kunz launched his first collection in 2002, combining his extraordinary dynamism with an exceptional know-how that blends tradition and modernity. Ulysse Nardin InnoVision

Ulysse Nardin InnoVision

The Purists reported about the latest UN watch, the InnoVision. UN is famous for its ’special’ creations, and just when you thought that it couldn’t get any freakier than their ‘Freak’ watch, they introduce the concept watch called InnoVision.

The InnoVision has 10 innovations that will put this watch directly on the horological map. Marcus Hanke over at The Purists reported about this watch in the Purists News Section. Follow this link, and read about the InnoVision’s innovations. Despite all high-tech innovations, they at least could have spend some time designing a ‘wearable’ watch.
