Memoire 1 by MAURICE LACROIX

Memoire 1 by MAURICE LACROIX

Here is the latest shot of the new Maurice Lacroix Memoire 1. This is the first mechanical watch in the world to feature a memory function. The memory function by itself makes this a very appealing and unique watch, however the design looks a bit clunky. Regardless of looks, or even the price, this limited edition watch will sell.

Chanel: With the Speed of Time

If J12 line appeared owing to Jaques Elle’s interest in sailers, then J122 Superleggera originates from his interest in the romance of auto racing.

Double Rotor Titanium Calibre P-181 by PERRELET

I am really impressed with the Perrelet Double Rotor Titanium P-181 watch and the entire Perrelet titanium watch collection. This one has a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with 6 layers of non-reflective treatment on both sides. The 43.5 mm wide and 13.6 mm tall case is made of solid titanium. Titanium is almost twice as strong as steel all while being about half the weight. Titanium is also anti-allegric and very resistant to corrision. Perrelet used a natural rubber strap which is actually organic. Like titanium, natural rubber is extremely biocompatible and anti-allergic. They finished it all off with a solid titanium folding clasp. The use of carbon fiber accents on the dial and the exhibition caseback were two extra nice touches that add further appeal. If my conversion is correct you can find the Perrelet Double Rotor Titanium wristwatch here for $6999.

Piaget Stronger Presence In Geneva

To accommodate its development, Piaget is carrying out major expansion work at its manufactory in Plan-les-Ouates. The imposing edifice inaugurated in 2001, which is also the firm’s headquarters, can no longer absorb increased manpower fuelled by growth. Located on a plot of land covering nearly 30,000 m2, the existing building provides a total floor space of 8,471 m2.

This summer, 850 m2 of new floor space will be added to the current building, enabling the firm to strengthen its activities, particularly in the fields of product development, marketing, training and the production of watches and jewellery. The expansion project is being overseen by the designer of the site, architect Pierre Studer.

New York—Gucci is releasing two special-edition watches to honor both its largest store opening and the 2008 Olympics: the exclusive New York Signoria timepiece with bone dial and the limited-edition 8-8-2008 I-Gucci.

The New York Signoria timepiece, crafted in yellow gold and diamonds with bone dial, is one of several products Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini has designed exclusively for the February opening of the company’s largest store at 725 Fifth Ave. in Manhattan.

Chopard Prepares For The Future In Geneva And In Fleurier

To increase its manufacturing capacity and consolidate its vertically integrated production which includes more than 40 different professions, Chopard recently purchased new buildings and land in Geneva and Fleurier.

Since 1974, Chopard has been based in the Meyrin industrial zone on the outskirts of Geneva, where it has progressively developed its administrative headquarters and production workshops. The most recent acquisition was made in July 2007, with the purchase of an adjacent building with a floor space of 3,200 m2 located on a plot measuring 9,800 m2. This purchase follows the construction, in 2006, of a new hall offering a production space of 2,000 m2. In Meyrin, Chopard now has an effective floor space of 24,000 m2 on land covering a total surface area of 64,000 m2.
