DiCaprio dons Jaeger-LeCoultre at Oscars
New York—Hollywood’s leading man Leonardo DiCaprio donned a Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Minute Repeater to Tinseltown’s most anticipated night of the year, the Academy Awards.
Valued at approximately $175,000, the Master Minute Repeater is a limited-edition platinum timepiece with a sapphire caseback, a 15-day power-reserve movement and a hand-stitched alligator-leather strap.
A collector of Jaeger-LeCoultre timepieces, DiCaprio owns two others: the Master Compressor Geographic and the Reverso Septantieme. The rose-gold Master Compressor Geographic includes a dial that displays the names of cities in 24 time zones that correspond to the local time where the wearer currently resides. The Platinum Reverso Septantieme has a silver guilloché dial, silvered Arabic numerals, a day/night indicator, the JLC signature large date, a small second dial and a power-reserve indicator.
Dicaprio has sported Jaeger-LeCoultre timepieces at a number of other red-carpet appearances this year. He wore the Master Minute Repeater to the Golden Globe Awards, the Screen Actors Guild Awards, the New York premiere of
The Departed
and the Los Angeles premiere of
Blood Diamond
