LP Watch Named American Le Mans’ Official Watch, Timekeeper

The LP Watch Group has been named the official watch and timekeeper of the American Le Mans Series, one of the world’s leading motorsport competitions, under a multi-year partnership.

“A unique aspect of American Le Mans Series racing is that every event is based on time, never distance like most other events,” said Scott Atherton, Series president and chief executive officer. “As a result, there is a direct connection between the Series and its official timekeeper that doesn’t exist in other forms of motorsport.”

Under the agreement, the LP Watch Group will award class winners in each of the Series’ 12 championship rounds with a premium timepiece celebrating the American Le Mans Series. These limited edition watches, as well as new collections manufactured by The LP Watch Group, will be available at all 12 Series races, online at americanlemans.com and at select retail locations.

The Group will also present its high-end, mechanical watches to each American Le Mans Series class champion at the annual end-of-season awards ceremony in Monterey, Calif. Class winners at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring and Petit Le Mans also will be rewarded similar timepieces.

The LP Watch Group has plans to use logos from the American Le Mans Series, IMSA, the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring and Petit Le Mans, and the Series will brand many of its promotional and informational timing spots with The LP Watch Group.

The LP Watch Group’s Swiss timepieces include the Lucien Piccard, LP Italy and LP Swiss Sports brands. The American Le Mans Series, televised in North American and Europe, competes at premier road racing tracks across North America and at selected temporary street circuits in major urban markets. It features high-tech sports cars from the world’s leading automobile manufacturers.
