Timex Group appoints new CEO

Middlebury, Conn.—Timex Group B.V. has named Hans-Kristian Hoejsgaard, a seasoned luxury retail veteran, as its new president and chief executive officer, effective Feb. 11.

“It is indeed a pleasure and a privilege to have been entrusted with leading one of the world’s largest watch companies, built on strong global brands and leading technologies,” Hoejsgaard said in a company release issued on Friday. “I look forward to working with the shareholders and the people at Timex Group to continue their success and to take the company forward.”

Hoejsgaard, who was formerly president and CEO of luxury goods purveyor Georg Jensen, brings an extensive amount of international management experience to the position. Prior to joining Georg Jensen, he was president of Lancaster Group Worldwide, a Paris-based division of Coty. Earlier in his career, he was based in Hong Kong as the managing director of the Asia Pacific region for Guerlain, a division of LVMH Moet Hennessey Louis Vuitton. He also held senior management positions with Joseph E. Seagram and Sons in Rome, Hong Kong and Bangkok, Thailand.

Hoejsgaard holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and strategic planning from Southern Denmark Business School and has undertaken executive education at Harvard Business School, INSEAD and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Timex Group, one of the top watch companies in the world, generates approximately $700 million in annual revenues and is staffed by more than 6,000 employees. The brands it sells and manufactures include Timex, TX, Timex Ironman, Timex Expedition, Valentino, Salvatore Ferragamo, Vincent Bérard, Versace, Versus, Guess, Guess Collection, Marc Ecko and Nautica.
